Megan Young recently gave fans a glimpse into how she successfully put together a do-it-yourself baby shower.

"Naghahanda na ako sa baby shower so magse-setup ako ng parang dessert bar so we need mga stands," Megan said in her latest YouTube vlog as she shopped for decorations with her husband Mikael Daez.

The couple started preparing a few weeks ahead of the event, which they set up at their studio. Megan revealed that she wanted to take a DIY approach to the celebration to keep costs down, while also making the experience more personal.

"I'm getting ready for the baby shower ahead of time. DIY ako dahil ayoko kong gumastos pero nagapagastos pa din, it's not just as much. But I have this sudden urge to really host people and just have a party, so I really wanted to be hands on with this," she remarked.

The actress also shared a personal anecdote about her preference for minimal floral arrangements, noting that it has been her style since her relationship with Mikael began. "Sabi ko kay [Mikael] when we first started dating, I didn't want to receive flowers, it's just not something that I like. Even during the wedding , like I said minimize the flowers as much as possible," she relayed.

"And now that we're gonna have our baby shower, I bought fake flowers, and the reason I bought fake flowers is because I want it to use over and over again so one time purchase for forever usage."

Megan also worked on the lettering of the backdrop for the event. "Kung hindi niyo natatanong nag-caligraphy workshop ako dati, hilig ko talaga 'to before. Hindi ako sobrang galing pero happy naman ako sa nagiging result ng caligraphy ko. Hindi kasi ako marunong mag-drawing so naisip ko why not sulat na lang," she shared.

On the day of the baby shower, guests were treated to coffee and bread. Guests also played various games.

"We had so much fun doing this today," Megan remarked as she wrapped up the event.

Megan and Mikael are set to welcome a baby boy.
