LISBON, Portugal -- Former '80s star matinee idol and actor Patrick Dela Rosa is happy with his simple yet fruitful life, after almost 20 years of staying out of the spotlight.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, the actor shared how much he relishes his life now after he and his family moved to California to start anew.

"So now, nasa business na ako, so based na ako sa California… I would say iba na talaga ang buhay ko ngayon… mas gusto ko ngayon dahil mas simple. 'Di katulad nung artista pa [ako]. I can go anywhere, I can walk anywhere, so ayun… nag-iba na buhay ko ngayon dahil naging negosyante na ako ngayon," Dela Rosa said.

When asked if he has plans in returning to his star-studded life back in the Philippines, he said that he has no plans of returning to showbiz, and that he is "totally done" with it.

"Done na. Totally done na. I'm done na with the showbiz. At this point in time, mas happy ako," Dela Rosa shared.

In his message to his Filipino fans, especially to the voters of the upcoming midterm elections, he advised them to vote for the right leaders that can genuinely help the people, especially the poor.
