EXCLUSIVE: Mika Salamanca finally fulfills dream of joining PBB: 'Sobrang dream ko siya!'

Having been involved in quite a few controversies before joining the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab edition, Mika Salamanca admitted that she really had to think it over before saying yes to the country’s longest running reality competition.

“Actually before ako sumali, buong family and friends ko sinasabi nila na it’s a make it or break it kind of thing and sobrang intimidating niya for me. Pero at the same time, I want to fulfill the little me’s dream. Sabi ko nga dati, isa siya sa pangarap ko na never kong titigilan at kakalimutan. Kaya kahit saan siguro ako dalhin ng buhay, lagi ko itong i-i-aim,” she told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.
“Actually before ako sumali, buong family and friends ko sinasabi nila na it’s a make it or break it kind of thing and sobrang intimidating niya for me. Pero at the same time, I want to fulfill the little me’s dream. Sabi ko nga dati, isa siya sa pangarap ko na never kong titigilan at kakalimutan. Kaya kahit saan siguro ako dalhin ng buhay, lagi ko itong i-i-aim,” she told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.
The housemate known as the 'Controversial Ca-Babe-Len ng Pampanga' also shared just how much she has wanted to be a housemate since she started watching the show as a little girl and has even auditioned for PBB multiple times already. “Sobrang dream ko siya since bata ako. ‘Yun nga sinabi ko na nung bata ako nag-audition na ako sa kanya. Parang tatlong beses na ako nakapag-audition. Noong bata kasi ako, buong pamilya ko nanunuod na ng PBB. It’s always been a dream na makasama sa PBB and ma-show sa mundo kung sino talaga ako,” she admitted.

It’s always been a dream na makasama sa PBB and ma-show sa mundo kung sino talaga ako,” she admitted.
In an emotional moment with Big Brother in the confession room, Mika revealed how vulnerable she was feeling after being asked to do a task with the other housemates. The 32-year-old artist explained how her fear of committing mistakes inside the house was connected to her experience in 2020 after being arrested after violating Hawaii's mandatory 14-day quarantine rule. “Noong nasa Hawaii po ako before, mayroon po akong pinagkatiwalaan na kaibigan noon. Nagtiwala po ako sa kanya kasi taga-doon siya tapos noong nakita po ng mga tao na lumabas ako noong quarantine first day ko roon, na-bash po ako nu'n and na-arrest po ako noon. So, every time na may nagagawa po akong mali bumabalik ‘yun, ‘yung bashing sa akin sa pag-arrest sa akin. So, every time na nagkakamali ako, natatakot ako na baka, hala, baka bumalik ‘yung nangyari sa Hawaii, na'yun nga, ang tanga ko," she shared.

In her interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Mika also shared her favorite housemates from past seasons of the show including which one stood out for her the most. “Si James Reid kasi nung time na ‘yun sobrang crush ko siya eh noong bata ako. No further explanation (laughs). Si Benedict Cua naman, talaga kasi sobrang funny niya at sobrang dami niyang personality. Sobrang ganda ng personality niya. And I think sobrang interesting and sarap niyang panuorin sa reality show,” she said.

Mika also shared that one of the most memorable PBB moments for her was watching BINI member Gwen on the show in 2022. “Nung kumain si Gwen ng maraming bread, hindi in a bad way, natuwa lang ako. Like what if sumali ako ng PBB, ganun din ako. What if? Kasi noong time na yun na-bash siya di ba? Pero like ngayon, naiintindihan na ng mga tao,” she added.
