“Parang minanifest ko siya eh. I feel like I drink coffee so much that I’ve been manifesting for a project like this, tapos dumating ang 7-11 and I just feel so grateful and everything happened so fast. I’m just so grateful,” he shared.

“(Getting enough) water and also proper sleep, vocal exercises, at saka you can never stop learning talaga eh so vocal coaching, and vocal lessons you can also find even on the internet to take care of your voice. At saka naniniwala din ako sa Manuka honey at saka mga salabat, mga ganun,” he admitted.

“I feel like it’s a case-to-case basis, kasi ako personally kaya kong uminom ng coffee before singing at an event or stuff like that. Case to case basis ‘yung paniniwala mo at ikaw yung nakakakilala sa sarili mo. Lalo na yung lalamunan for singers,” he explained.

“Grabe yung pagmamahal ko sa kape talaga (laughs). Kahit hindi ko kailangan magising, iinumin ko yung coffee. It’s like a comfort drink for me as well. And I’m able to balance various activities because of it because it gives me that extra boost, like when I’m at the gym or at the late night events na kailangan ko talaga magising. That’s when I also start to have another drink of coffee. And also before hosting ASAP and Showtime also. It’s very helpful for my day-to-day schedule,” he added.

When in the country, Darren says he prefers his drinks iced.
“Every day talaga I drink coffee and it’s like the start of my day. Minsan pag malamig ‘yung panahon, like when I was in Paris, mas warm yung drinks pero usually iced talaga ako. Usually black lang, or Americano. Parang exception ‘yung Spanish latte at French Vanilla ng City Cafe kasi aside from the coffee taste, it’s a different flavor aside from having just regular brewed coffee. Nakaka-happy siya. Exception ‘yun,” he added.
Darren admits that he only really started drinking coffee when he started working in showbiz.

“I don’t remember na din who introduced me to coffee but I think siguro dahil sa work kailangan magising most of the time. That’s why I drink coffee. Once a day lang. So when I have my coffee fix na in the morning okay na ako. Usually before Showtime, ganun, para energized ako the whole show or if I have stuff (to do) after Showtime that’s when I’ll drink coffee,” he shared. “Minsan kapag mahaba ‘yung araw I try to pace my coffee drinking, so minsan late na ‘pag afternoon na o ‘pag kailangan ko na ulit ma-energize. Actually minsan (I drink it) for the flavor. But mostly I drink it to stay awake and be energized.“

”I really just like the taste of coffee also,” he added. “Dun sa ASAP dun ko natutunan uminom ng black coffee because it’s lower on calories at saka wala siyang sugar. So natutunan ko yun sa mga co-artists ko. Parang lahat naman kami same lang na black coffee ‘yung iniinom.”
