When she’s not busy acting in front of the camera, actress Meg Imperial revealed she’s busy focusing on playing padel, a doubles racket sport that is defined as being similar to tennis and is played in an enclosed court with walls.

In her Instagram post last February 24, Meg shared that she recently competed in the first Manila leg of the  Asia-Pacific’s Professional Padel Tour held last February 21 to 23 in Mandaluyong City. Meg was part of the 160 players from 24 countries who were competing in six different categories.

Meg wrote about experience in joining her second competition, “Winning wasn’t the goal when my partner and I decided to join APPT @asiapacificpadeltour —we wanted the experience, the challenge, and the chance to test ourselves as a team. This was only our second tournament together, the first being Women’s Beginners, and APPT was definitely a whole new level—way out of our league for now. But we knew we had to go for it, to feel the nerves, and to learn how to use them to our advantage. We still have a long way to go, but this experience was exactly what we needed to push ourselves further. It motivated us to improve, keep learning, and try again. Excited for what’s next and for all the growth still ahead.

"Big thanks to our amazing opponents, @everything.mayumi & Elmira and @peachhorbe & @coolotclrnc , for the great matches. A huge thank you to @playpadelph for supporting all the Filipino players who joined and challenged themselves in this tournament. And of course, thanks to @seaniohhh for being such a cool and solid partner—excited for more games and more growth together! 🎾💪”

Even when she is outside of the country or in bad weather, Meg tries not to miss out on practicing her sport. She wrote in a post last December, “Played padel here in Dubai, and it’s a good reminder that progress takes time. I’m still far from perfect, but every game is a step forward. Slowly but surely, getting there. 🎾💪”

Even when she doesn’t feel like working out, the 32-year-old actress motivates herself to keep on going and working on getting better on the court. She wrote, “It’s okay if your body feels slow today. It’s okay if nothing seems to be working. Not every day will feel strong—and that doesn’t mean you’re not improving. Keep showing up. Keep trying. Even on the hard days, you’re still moving forward. #NoteToSelf”

Apart from playing padel, Meg is also into doing other workouts like pilates, as seen in previous posts. She wrote, “This year is all about stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing myself to try new things. Ignore the shaking—I’m trying to act cool, but deep inside, I’m struggling. Almost caught a cramp in my obliques... 😂”

She also enjoys taking in the outdoors with friends doing activities like rock climbing and mountaineering. She wrote in a previous post, “Sometimes, the true happiness lies in the beauty of simplicity. The company of dear friends 👯‍♀️who truly understand you is what makes this season so special. Whether it’s engaging in playful activities, sharing laughter, or even teasing each other, there’s nothing quite like letting loose, having a few drinks, and being utterly silly together. These moments, shared and cherished, are truly priceless! 💋”

A former Star Magic artist before moving to the roster of VIva Artists Agency, Meg was seen in ABS-CBN shows like Ipaglaban Mo, Maalala Mo Kaya, The General’s Daughter, and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
