Former beauty queen Aya Abesamis now engaged to model John Spainhour

Aya Abesamis and John Spainhour announce their engagement. Abesamis/Instagram Former beauty queen Aya Abesamis and model-actor John Spainhour are set to tie the knot. 

The couple announced their engagement through an Instagram post on Thursday, February 20. 

"Life just got a little more sparkly," Abesamis said in the caption. 

Friends and fans, including fellow celebrities, congratulated the newly engaged couple. 

Among them were Abesamis' fellow beauty queens: Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados, Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2019 Emma Tiglao, and Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar.

Abesamis finished first runner-up in Bb. Pilipinas 2019 but later on replaced Samantha Lo after she prematurely ended her reign as Bb. Pilipinas International 2019. 

She was supposed to represent the Philippines in Miss Grand International 2020, but was unable to compete as she exceeded the age limit for the pageant.

Both Abesamis and Spainhour are pursuing modeling careers in the United States.
