Liwanag sa Dilim musical star Alexa Ilacad gave credit to KD Estrada for giving her more happy memories together after celebrating Valentine’s day this year in Hong Kong. 

Having been busy with daily rehearsals for her upcoming musical with 9 Works Theatrical, Alexa admitted she really enjoyed the chance to unwind and celebrate a fun Valentine’s weekend with KD last week. The couple shared clips from their trip to Disneyland. In her Instagram post last February 15, Alexa wrote, “Beside you is the happiest place on earth ☺️ Happy 💘’s day everyday!”

During the February 19 press visit for the Liwanag Sa Dilim rehearsals, Alexa told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive video how she and KD make their relationship work despite doing separate projects right now.

“It’s mostly him! He does most of the work and I really appreciate that because I’ve been so busy with this. Honestly, I’ve been here everyday and aside from this, I also have other things. I’m not saying that KD isn’t busy but he never forgets about me, to check on me. It’s actually the small things. Like asking how I am, what food can he send over to make my day better. So I guess it’s really the small things that really keep the romance,” she explained. 

Alexa admitted she enjoyed the trip so much that she plans to head back and bring her family there to celebrate her 25th birthday on February 26.

“It was great! In fact, I’m going back next week to celebrate my birthday. This time, it’s actually also my first family vacation so I’ll be with my pamangkins and of course we want to experience Disneyland together. My favorite ride there with KD was Hyper Space Mountain because I love rollercoasters. I love the thrill-seeking stuff so anything na mapapasigaw talaga ako,” she added. 

After dating for almost three years now, the actress said that one thing that keeps their relationship strong is the fact that they both put in the effort when it comes to being romantic.

"We both are naman in our own ways but when I’m too busy with work, medyo yung mind ko nag-fo-focus talaga, nag-la-lock-in talaga siya with what I have to think about everyday. So during those times, he gives the 80% and I give the 20%. And when it’s him naman that’s busy, I’ll give everything I can and he’ll supply the rest,” she revealed.

Alexa started out in showbiz as a commercial model at the age of two. She rose to popularity after joining the cast of the kiddie comedy show Goin’ Bulilit where she is considered one of the most notable alumni.

In 2023, she made her theatrical debut as one of the stars of the PETA musical Walang Aray along with love team partner KD Estrada. The production was a take on the 1898 classic zarzuela Walang Sugat. She was last seen on TV in the drama series Pira-Pirasong Paraiso which aired until last year and also starred Loisa Andalio, Charlie Dizon, and Elisse Joson.
