Lady Gaga calls Pinoy drag queen Precious Paula Nicole a 'superstar'

Pop star Lady Gaga has branded Filipino drag queen Precious Paula Nicole "a superstar."

Last Saturday, February 8, Precious performed Lady Gaga's newest single "Abracadabra" with fellow drag queen Popstar Bench at Rampa queer club in Quezon City.

Bench had came up with the initial concept for the performance for the club's anniversary. Bench initially planned to perform it solo and wear white just like Gaga. But Precious, as one of Rampa's creative heads, thought it would slay more if she joined Bench onstage and wore red, which was also in the music video.

"Hindi lang siya pwedeng ma-perform mag-isa dahil, doon sa music video dalawa siya. May lady in red, kailangan dalawa siya para mas ma-feel nila yung magic na maipalabas natin yung music video at mailagay natin sa stage ng Rampa," Precious said.

Precious uploaded a video of the performance on TikTok and other platforms on Sunday night. And the day after, Lady Gaga penned her reaction to Precious and Bench's performance.

"You are a superstar," Gaga commented on the Tiktok video, to which Precious replied, "Thank you Mother."

Precious said that this was the first time that a global music icon such as Lady Gaga commented on her performances in her drag queen career.

But it wasn't just Gaga who was impressed with the impersonation. 

"Yung stylist mismo ng music video, nag-follow sa kin sa IG (Instagram), yung choreographer nag-follow na rin, yung mga drag race queens din sa US nagme-message din po sila. Na-amaze nga daw sila sa bilis at sa magic na naideliver namin sa Rampa," said Precious, winner of the Drag Race Philippines Season 1.
