BTS star V's dog Yeontan passes away

The 28-year-old artist announced Yeontan's death through a post on his Instagram Stories, which was written in Korean and translated into English by K-pop news portal Soompi.

"Yeontan has embarked on a long journey to the dog stars," V wrote.

"I thought a lot about how to tell you this, but I felt it was right to share this news with ARMY, who have shown so much love for Yeontan," he said, addressing fans.

V added: "I hope you have a warm end of the year where you can tell your loved ones that you love them once more."

The artist, who is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service, concluded his message by wishing fans to "always be healthy until the day we meet again!".

V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, recently released "Winter Ahead," a duet with ballad singer Park Hyo-shin.
