MANILA — Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto's reunion film "Un/Happy For You" earned P20.5 million in cinemas nationwide on its first day, the biggest opening gross of a Filipino film this year.

Now showing in over 250 cinemas all over the country, netizens are showering the movie with positive feedback as they were moved by the film's plot.

During the premiere night, Garcia and Barretto expressed their gratitude to all their supporters and the production team behind "Un/Happy For You."

“Gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa lahat — sa fans, sa family namin na andito, sa friends namin, sa bosses, thank you. Sa Star Cinema, salamat sa pagtitiwala sa amin ni Julia. Sa Viva Films, of course, at sa buong team ng 'Un/happy For You,'” the actor said.

“Sobrang nakaka-overwhelm ‘yung suporta na pinapakita niyo. Sobrang nagpapasalamat kami sa lahat ng efforts niyo. Sana po magustuhan niyo siya,” Barretto added.

The romantic drama film directed by Petersen Vargas will soon hit international cinemas.

It will be screened in Australia and New Zealand on August 22; as well as in USA and Guam the next day.

"Un/Happy For You" is also set to be be screened in Canada, Middle East, Saipan, Cambodia, Rome, Milan, and Malta.
