MANILA -- Actor Xian Lim and girlfriend Iris Lee made their red carpet debut at the premiere night of “Kuman Thong,” the film they co-wrote, Monday evening in Quezon City.

“Maraming salamat [for the support]. I hope everyone  enjoys the film. Everyone is very excited for this film, I hope you can all watch,” Lim said in an interview.

Lee declined to give her comment on camera, but said she is “very proud” of her beau who also directed  “Kuman Thong.”

The film is top billed by actress and Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2013 title holder Cindy Miranda, child star Althea Ruedas, and Thai actor Max Nattapol.

Miranda described Lim as a “cool director.”

“Xian is very nice. Like I said, he really wants to be a good director, he is very passionate. I did not see bad side in Direk Xi. He is very good,” Miranda said during the media conference of Kuman Thong last June 19.

“Actually, on this set I was ready. When I ask him what to do— he says ‘whatever you feel,’ As an actor, it feels good to act out what I felt or how I understood the script. Direk Xian trusted I will do well,” she added.

Miranda said both Lee and Lim were “very passionate” on set, which sometimes led to clashes, but she clarified that they always resolved these professionally, with the best intentions for the film's outcome.

“I will be honest. May times they argue. But it is good, because there are two ideas. Sometimes, an idea needs to be contradicted. I don’t think it was bad. Sometimes they would argue in a scene, but we think its for the best of the script. They really were helping each other. They always meet halfway,” she said.
