MANILA - Rufa Mae Quinto is expecting her first child with non-showbiz fiance Trev Magallanes, the comedienne confirmed on Sunday.

In an interview on "Rated K," Quinto, 38, revealed that she is 17-weeks pregnant. She added that she gave in to her tears after learning the news from her doctors because she feared that she would not be able to carry a child at her age.

Quinto added that she has been advised to rest to avoid further complications regarding her "delicate" pregnancy, admitting: "Hindi ko naman kasi alam na bawal ka na palang gumalaw ng gumalaw kapag buntis ka. Kailangan lahat dahan-dahan lang. Hindi ka na basta basta puwedeng yumuko, kailangan may poise na."

Rumors about Quinto's pregnancy first surfaced when television and radio host Grace Lee posted a photo with the comedienne, which she captioned: "Nothing better on this rainy afternoon than pigging out with this glowing pregnant lady."

Lee later on edited the post and removed the word pregnant.

Prior to Lee's accidental reveal, the closest Quinto came to hinting about being on the way was a photo on her account of a stuffed bear she received from a friend. Many of her fans in the comments section quickly speculated that the gift is actually for her soon-to-be child.

Quinto is set to marry Magallanes this November.
