MANILA – Young actress Ysabel Ortega feels blessed that she was given another television project after the phenomenal run of “On the Wings of Love” (OTWOL).

After playing the third wheel to the love team of James Reid and Nadine Lustre on the show, Ortega is now part of the primetime series “Born For You” starring Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador.

“Sobra po akong grateful sa Dreamscape na they gave me another chance to be part of another show so there’s nothing but happiness and I’m super grateful,” she told ABS-CBN News on Sunday.

A natural singer, Ortega said she is glad that she can also showcase her vocal talent on “Born For You.”

“Si Nina po, it’s unlike my role in ‘OTWOL’ na very nice lang si Angela. Si Nina this time, she’s a kontrabida. She’s a performer, she’s an artista. Overall, I take it as a challenge. It’s a lot more challenging po than ‘OTWOL’ 'yung role ko dito. I’m loving every minute of it,” she said.

Does she also get hate messages from the fans of Magalona and Salvador because of her character on the show?

“Not at all po. Actually kasi, what I like about viewers of ‘Born For You,’ they understand how to separate the character from the actor. Natutuwa po ako. Lahat ng hate nila, binubuhos nila lahat towards Nina. Pero para sa akin naman po bilang Ysabel, they are very nice,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ortega said she is willing to also try other roles in the future if given more projects. This includes working with Albie Casino again, who was her onscreen partner on “OTWOL.”

“As of now po, wala po kaming alam na further projects. Pero yes po, why not? Kakasimula ko pa lang po sa showbiz and I’m open to many things,” she said.

Ortega is the daughter of singer Michelle Ortega with Senator Lito Lapid.
