“Halik” star Sam Milby has confirmed that he once had a romantic relationship with actress Toni Gonzaga, his former onscreen partner with whom he will reunite in an upcoming film.

Milby, 34, spoke on the topic in an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” that aired Monday.

Referring to their film project, which will be directed by Gonzaga’s husband, Paul Soriano, Milby said: “Toni hasn’t changed. She looks exactly the same she did when I first started sa business. One thing that you can’t deny sa amin, from the start, we’ve always had great chemistry.”

Asked by host Boy Abunda whether he and Gonzaga were ever officially a couple, the actor answered: “I wouldn’t say officially, no.”

He did confirm courting Gonzaga, saying, “Yeah, I did like her.”

“I felt it was more MU, but it was not official,” he added, using the colloquial term for “mutual understanding.”

In an October 2015 interview on the same program, Milby referred to Gonzaga as his “first love in showbiz,” but did not give further details.

Gonzaga has been similarly forthcoming on her past relationship with Milby. In 2011, the 34-year-old actress confirmed that Milby pursued her romantically for a time.

“There was a time I thought he was going to be the one,” Gonzaga said then. “We were very close, doing a lot of movies together, spent a lot of time together but I was not allowed to get in a relationship. I was very young. I was 21. I do not follow my heart, I follow my parents.”

Milby entered showbiz in 2005 via “Pinoy Big Brother,” which Gonzaga hosted.

He was then paired with Gonzaga in several TV and film projects, including the romantic-comedy movies "You Are The One" (2006), " "You Got Me" (2007), "My Big Love" (2008), "Ang Tanging Pamilya" (2009), and the drama series "Maging Sino Ka Man" (2007).
