Singer Mocha Uson denied Friday that she is clamoring for a government post, saying that she has no plan to join politics or seek public office.

Uson, a vocal supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, said a person does not need a position in government to help the administration.

Pangalawa, wala akong balak pasukin ang politika," Uson said in an inteview with ABS-CBN News on Friday.

"Hindi naman kailangan ng posisyon or title para tumulong ka sa gobyerno o sa ating bansa, dapat mag-volunteer ka, voluntary, hindi mo kailangan ng posisyon," she said.

Uson also chided critics in social media, saying she is not seeking any position in government.

Eyebrows were raised after Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon told ABS-CBN News that he tapped singer and dancer Mocha Uson as a "social media consultant" at the bureau.

It even spawned a hashtag that poked fun at allegedly how easy it is to get a government position under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The BOC later denied Faeldon's statement to ABS-CBN News, following the social media backlash.

Uson also released a statement claiming that the President's critics maliciously used the reports to discredit the current government.

In the interview, Uson admitted that Faeldon asked for her help to disseminate information about the bureau and act as a bridge where ordinary citizens can send their complaints about corrupt Customs men.

She said she got the offer when she interviewed the Customs commissioner.

Uson reiterated she will help the Customs bureau but without any official position or salary.

"Walang position, walang sahod, walang official appointment, walang ganoon," she said.
