She hasn't been shy in promoting the Philippines.

And Sandara Park is determined to give the local tourism industry a little more push after being recognized as the country's "Friendship Ambassador" to South Korea.

The former Kapamilya star posted a photo of herself after accepting the recognition from Philippine Ambassador to Korea Raul Hernandez.

"This is an honor for me," she wrote as the caption to the snap taken during an event celebrating the country's Independence Day in Seoul held over the weekend. "I want to thank everyone who have loved and supported me throughout this journey. Mahal ko kayo!"

Park also shared a clip of the speech she delivered to overseas Filipino workers, in which she described the Philippines as her "second home."

"Diyan po ako lumaki," she said. "At sobrang malaking love po ang natanggap ko mula sa Pinoy."

Park, a member of the now disbanded K-pop girl group 2NE1, started her showbiz career as a contestant on the ABS-CBN talent search "Star Circle Quest" in 2004. She finished runner-up to Hero Angeles.

She defended the Philippines in a Korean TV show last January. In the clip, Park is seen convincing her fellow Koreans that the Philippines is a safe and beautiful place. Also shown was Park's visit to Coron, Palawan.
