MANILA -- It was just over a month ago when their die-hard supporters were jumping around in excitement over their reunion project -- a sweet ad about rekindling friendships.

But this week, these same fans were left scratching their heads after Sharon Cuneta unfollowed Gabby Concepcion on Instagram.

Some eagle-eyed sleuths noticed that the former couple no longer follow each other on the social media platform. It sparked worry, moreso when Cuneta began posting a series of cryptic quotes and opened up about the "pain" of losing a friend.

Apologizing to her family for not being in touch with them over the past few days, she wrote: "You will never know how much pain losing what I thought would be a lasting friendship this time has caused me. How can only all good intentions go wrong?"

She did not specify that her post was about former husband, but she did drop a telling clue about wanting to be a "forever friend" to this person, whom she has a "beautiful child" with.

"I never wanted to hurt anyone [and] I also certainly didn't expect to be humiliated and hurt," Cuneta said. "I just wanted a forever friend to keep for our beautiful child, and a beautiful movie."

"Minsan ayaw ng tadhana."

Cuneta and Concepcion has a daughter, actress-host KC. They were set to reunite for a flick before it was shelved due to a host of reasons, including scheduling conflicts.

Concepcion's own Instagram page was set to private after Cuneta unfollowed him.
