MANILA — Despite being away from the Philippines, local superstar Anne Curtis has made it a point to lend a hand to sectors heavily impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Curtis, who is in Australia with husband Erwan Heussaff after recently giving birth, initiated her relief project via her personal wish-granting foundation, Dream Machine.

Dream Machine, in a post on Instagram, announced that it has donated supplies of alcohol and medical gloves to hospitals caring for COVID-19 patients.

As of Thursday, the group has delivered 50 gallons of alcohol and 3,000 pieces disposable gloves each to Research Institute of Tropical Medicine, San Lazaro Hospital, Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, and Lung Center of the Philippines.

According to Dream Machine, the four hospitals are the first batch of recipients of medical supplies.

In a message to health workers and other frontliners, Curtis wrote: "I just want to say maraming salamat po for your dedication and hard work. I pray for your safety and hope makatulong po ito. May God continue to bless and protect you."

Curtis earlier urged donations for other vulnerable communities through the program of United Nations Children's Fund, which she represents in the Philippines as its National Goodwill Ambassador.
