For a second year running, a Filipina actress has taken home the Yakushi Pearl Award, or the Most Brilliant Performer Award, from the Osaka Asian Film Festival in Japan.

Succeeding Iza Calzado was Ryza Cenon, who was recognized at the 2018 edition of the festival for her role as a woman looking to move on from a heartbreak by travelling in "Mr. and Mrs. Cruz."

Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairperson Liza Diño-Seguerra broke the news on social media Saturday.

She also revealed that Mikhail Red was also named the festival's Most Promising Talent for "Neomanila."
