MANILA -- Carlo Aquino said he is not closing his doors on a possible reconciliation with his former girlfriend, actress Angelica Panganiban.

In an interview on Friday after the press conference for his movie, "Meet Me In St. Gallen" with Bela Padilla, Aquino stressed that he just needs time to heal after his breakup with his long-time girlfriend.

"Totoo naman na masyado pang maaga. Kaya nga sinasabi ko rin na hindi ko sinasarado ang possibility. Pero as of now, magpapagaling muna ako," he said.

But Aquino stressed that Panganiban will always be special for him.

"Ever since naman, very special siya. Katulad ng sinabi ko, hindi 'yon mawawala. Katulad ng sinabi niya, magkasabay kaming lumalaki. Naging magkaibigan muna kami, 'yung ganoon, so sobrang special siya sa akin," said the actor of his first love.

The actor also denied that his recent Twitter post was about Panganiban.

Last Wednesday, the actor tweeted: "Matalik na kaibigan, maaari ba kitang maging matalik na pag-ibig?"

"Wala akong pinapatamaan o inaalayan ng tweet na 'yon. Random thought lang 'yon kasi nga galing ako sa Panglao, yung ganoon," he explained.

Asked if he was the one who gave Panganiban a bouquet of flowers, Aquino said: "Hindi po, wala po akong ipinapadalang bulaklak."

BREAKUP

In the interview, Aquino finally talked about his breakup with his non-showbiz girlfriend.

The actor admitted he initiated the breakup, citing the lack of time in their relationship.

He also stressed that there is no third party.

"Isa rin 'yon kasi nagtuloy-tuloy din ang projects na ibinibigay sa akin. Paminsan hindi ako nakakauwi or kapag nasa bahay ako, siya naman ang wala," he said.

Asked if he's trying to win his girlfriend back, Aquino said: "Not yet, not just yet... Nag-uusap naman kami, nagkaka-text pa naman kami pero wala pa kami sa prosesong sinusubukan naming magkabalikan."
