Tang Philippines announced on Tuesday that it will raise the prices of all its products due to the excise tax on selected sweetened beverages as required by the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Tang said the law applies a tax of P12 per liter of product for beverages with high fructose corn syrup, while a tax of P6 per liter of product is applied to all ready-to-drink or powdered form beverages containing caloric and non-caloric sugar, or a mixture of both.

The company said its Tang Litro pack now has a suggested retail price of P16.45.
