MANILA – Provisional operations at the Santolan, Katipunan and Anonas stations of the LRT Line 2 could start as early as May after being shut due to a transformer fire last year, its operator said Tuesday.

The stations could operate earlier than the 9-month estimate due to the early procurement of materials but will not be at full capacity, Light Rail Transit Authority spokesperson Hernando Cabrera told DZMM radio.

Operations of the stations were suspended in October after one of the line's transformers "tripped" causing fire and damage to its system.

“Based on the latest activities nila sa procurement…nakita nila na pwedeng magkaroon tayo ng provisional service sa Santolan, Katipunan and Anonas station either bandang May or end ng June,” Cabrera said.

Trips between the Cubao and Recto stations have been operating since Oct. 8 last year.
