Beauty Beyond Borders: How The Aivee Clinic Champions Accessible Beauty

Beauty Beyond Borders, established in 2017, provides medical missions to various barangays. Dr. Aivee Teo and Dr. Z Teo along with The Aivee Clinic’s partner doctors and aim to make beauty accessible through free consultations, minor aesthetics surgeries, and emergency procedures. Naturally, Beauty Beyond Borders has defined constraints as it sees missions in Las Piñas, San Juan, Malabon, and Tagaytay all in partnership with the local government units of the respective cities and municipalities.

Before being the go-to by celebrity patrons like Heart Evangelista, Bea Alonzo, and Nadine Lustre, Dr. Aivee practiced dermatology at the Las Piñas Doctors Hospital. There, she would hold free clinic hours and give medication to those in need.

Beauty Beyond Borders is the natural progression of Dr. Aivee’s passion that has seen her through 20 years of practice. In fact, the success and recognition of The Aivee Clinic here and abroad, pushes Dr. Aivee to help even more. She shares, “I don’t want to give up my pathological dermatology because it keeps me grounded. If you see patients only for cosmetics, you will lose the essence of being a doctor at the very core, which is what I really studied to be: a doctor for skin health.”

On the other hand, Dr. Z Teo shares, “Beauty Beyond Borders was launched because we found there is a need for skin treatment and plastic surgery for people who cannot afford to come to our clinics. So we made it our mission to take our services outside our clinic to treat them. It is our mission that everyone should be able to avail themselves of good dermatological and plastic surgery care.”

Beauty Beyond Borders sees about 300 to 500 patients per mission, accommodating free physical and dermatological consultations and minor surgeries for patients who need particular care. It is not just limited to that as medications, multivitamins, supplements, and loot bags are distributed to children.

This year, the Philanthropic Excellence Award in the Health Category was given to Dr. Aivee for Beauty Beyond Borders. As Dr. Aivee received the citation, it only fueled her commitment to help and to bring her services closer to those in need. In fact, the success of The Aivee Clinic only gives more yearning to empower Beauty Beyond Borders. It’s a way for The Aivee Clinic to give back, humbled by the overwhelming support from clients and recognition from their colleagues and peers.

It is no surprise that this Christmas season, Beauty Beyond Borders is passionate to give accessible beauty, dermatology, and wellness. There will be another medical mission this month, anticipating around 400 patients in Las Piñas.

There is no limit indeed to what Beauty Beyond Borders will do next and the number of lives it will help. After all, beauty knows no boundaries and is an inclusive tool to create a community where everyone can shine.
