The category is face and hers is one that does not decline. On the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. The World, the worldwide franchise witnessed one of its fiercest, well-rounded competitors in the form of one Marina Summers.

A runner-up on her own season in the inaugural Philippine edition of the reality competition series, Marina elevated her drag to a more evolved form to represent the Philippines on her second time competing in a Drag Race franchise.

It’s safe to say that her run on UKVTW was definitely one of the most memorable in all of Drag Race herstory. With three Ru Badges under her belt and even earning the coveted “You were born to do drag” compliment directly from RuPaul, it comes as no surprise that her name is now synonymous with drag excellence. And while Marina might have been serving gag-worthy fashion looks the whole season, her mugs were also no joke and deserve a much-deserved spotlight.

Marina is no stranger to the beauty world as she’s been the face of multiple beauty brands since her stint on Drag Race Philippines. One of the most notable is being one of the ambassadors of pioneer beauty brand MAC Cosmetics, where she even represented the Philippines with other MAC Crew members from Asia Pacific in Seoul this year.

With all of the things above being said, we can’t help but look back on some of her most unforgettable looks on the show– looks that prove she’s not just a lip sync assassin but also, as she said in one of her Instagram posts, a lipstick assassin:

The Bold-est Star - In her Ara Marina fantasy sartorial number, Marina kept her beauty look matte and precise with a hint of gloss on the lips (changed to a bold red lip on her shoot with Seven Barretto) when she wore her Leo Almodal gown for her Grand Finale entrance look that was heavily influenced by the ‘80s bomba star aesthetic.Seven Barretto

Girl on Fire - Wearing her own version of Catriona Gray’s winning Miss Universe 2018 look by the same iconic designer Mak Tumang (and Job Dacon for the outerwear look), Marina veered away from her usual drag mug to match her red hot volcanic look. She ditched the sharp black wing and kept her eyes softer with a winged smokey shadow and paired it with a bright crimson lip that matched her lava-hued mane.Dookie Ducay

Bangus Couture - In what might be the pinnacle of her run on UKVTW (and the episode where “The Marina” was christened), Marina’s bangus-inspired look by designer Axel Que was even made more flawless by her makeup look. Her beat was made up of a bold eye look with blue glitter accents, a chiseled face, and a peachy pink nude lip.BJ Pascual

The Bride - Marina proves not all brides wear white and wear a conventional bridal glam. Wearing her Erich Miñoza bride look that showcases traditional vibrant culture and aesthetics of the Yakan tribe, Marina covers her face with dots and crescent patterns that symbolize the stars and the moon, respectively and finishes with a soft, glossy pink lip.Photo still from WOW Presents

Queen of the Sea Extravaganza - On the show’s finale episode, Marina chose to present this Queen of the Philippine Sea Blue Finale Eleganza Extravaganza black velvet decked in corals in 3D gold beading by Jan Garcia. And while the gown itself is stunning, it’s made even more beautiful by her sharp makeup. But what makes this extra special is we got treated to a more editorial version of the beauty look on her shoot with Seven Barretto. Marina amped it up with aqua eyeshadow all over the eyes, a just-bitten gradient lip, and of course, the unmissable gleaming, pearly skin.Seven Barretto

Golden Girl - For her entrance look on UKVTW, Marina looked like a bronzed fighter goddess when she introduced herself in her classic Marina beauty look: sharp brows, sharp eyes courtesy of a bold graphic liner, golden tones on the face, and finished with a nude lip that complimented her golden modern terno by designer Jude Macasinag.Alan Segui
