Recently, the last leg of the Metro Office Takeover for the season happened at the Cebu Pacific head office in Pasay City, where employees of the airline company attended and got their style, beauty, and wellness fix! The event featured a series of fun and informative discussions, with insider tips and exclusive talks from experts: Celebrity Stylist Em Millan, Board-Certified Dermatologist Dr. Mara Evangelista-Huber, and 'The Happiness Doctor' Lia Bernardo.

Metro Editor-in-Chief Geolette Esguerra and Beauty and Wellness Editor Kate Paras-Santiago gave the guests the warmest welcome as they talked about style archetypes and beauty personas, which are the building blocks of one’s personal style and beauty expression.

“If you know your style archetype, you can easily find the essential pieces in your wardrobe,” Geolette started off. “Plus, personal style is effortless confidence in being yourself. So when you put yourself together depending on your mood, your personal style helps you communicate that.”

“Generally, personal style is accepting who you are, because it’s you. That’s all you. And it’s your history as well; it’s your style journey. And that self-confidence in knowing who you are is good for your soul.”

Kate, meanwhile, emphasized why makeup plays an important part in one’s overall look. “No look is ever complete without makeup, ‘di ba?” she began her lecture on beauty personas. “Some of us have [even] mastered the art of doing makeup on the road. A look is always complete with your hair and makeup done.”

Fashion personality and celebrity stylist Em Millan caught us up on why style is integral to self-identity, too. “Style is an immediate language. Without even saying anything, you are already communicating something about yourself, ‘di ba?” she told us. “There is always a message with how you present yourself to the world.”

Top dermatologist and dermatopathologist Dr. Mara Evangelista-Huber also shared with the audience what ideal products to invest in to treat dandruff and damaged tresses. According to her, it’s always better to use what’s best for one’s hair and scalp health. “Makakakita ka, shampoo for curly hair, shampoo for limp hair, shampoo for volumizing. Lahat ng ‘yan, hindi imbento.”

As we often get stressed, guest speaker 'The Happiness Doctor' and founder of Atmaprema Well-being Group Dr. Lia Bernardo discussed what should be done to become happier and healthier in the workplace and in life in general. “When you’re keeping busy and never staying still, you need to create a new path. You need to make time; you need to stop. And if you stop for five minutes, the world will not end, but your countenance will.”
