As kids with vivid imaginations and growing zest for life, many of us had childhood dreams tucked in our hearts. But, more often than not, life will steer us in different directions, leaving those dreams just dreams. We asked these celebrities what they wanted to be when they were kids. They all had cute, interesting answers!

Volpi Cup awardee John Arcilla initially wanted to become an architect, which is related to his parents’ job as engineers. He thought of entering the seminary as well. But, amid his changing dreams, one thing remained constant, which is his love for the arts. “Laging mayroon akong inclination sa arts, so parang do’n talaga ako papunta. But then hindi ko naisip na magme-mainstream ako. Pero dahil nandito na ako, okay lang, no regrets. I’m happy.”

While it’s plain to see that Analain Salvador was born for stardom, she used to dream of becoming a doctor, “But sabi nga nila ngbabago-bago ‘yung mga pangarap, so I’m here now.”

Thanks to his father’s influence, “Can’t Buy Me Love” star Joao Constancia got fascinated with basketball, so much so that he thought of pursuing it as a profession. But destiny had some other plans. “I realized that my height wasn’t enough for it,” he quipped.

Inspired by kiddie pretend plays, Kiara Takahashi’s childhood dream was to be a cashier. Years later, due to constant traveling between Japan and the Philippines, she became amused with a flight attendant’s job, “Whenever nasa eroplano ako parang gandnag-ganda ako sa mga flight attendant.”

Having a strong obsession with superheroes, it is common for young boys to be fascinated with flying. Drei Sugay was obsessed with all things outer space, thus he wanted to become an astronaut.

Jordan Andrews once dreamed of exploring outer space too. He also couldn’t comprehend why he wanted to put up something like Harley Davidson, though he’s not into motorbikes.

If there are boys in love with spaces and flying, others like “Hex Boyfriend” star Aljon Mendoza thought of water adventures. He remembers that his only dream as a child was to enjoy swimming in a resort, “Lagi kong napapanaginipan, lagi akong nagde-daydream.” His loveteam partner Karina Bautista didn’t put much thought into her dream career as well. She wanted to become a rakista just because they look cool.

“Gusto ko lang maging mayaman,” shared Jude Servilla, who thought the instant way to becoming rich is to be a bus conductor, “Kasi marami silang hawak na pera.”

Would you believe that becoming a beauty queen wasn’t Nicole Cordoves’ original ambition? She initially wanted to become a lawyer, “But I realized na it’s not as exciting as it actually is, so I’m glad that I went on to become a beauty queen.”

Some Kapamilya stars are making their little selves extra proud by living their ultimate dreams, like Jason Dy who aspired to become a musician. Darren Espanto was only 12 when he joined showbiz via “The Voice Kids,” so obviously, this is what he really wanted.

Benedix Ramox envisioned himself as an actor or a filmmaker. “Bata pa lang ako, kumukuha na ako ng videos for myself at mga ginagawa kong actors noon mga kapatid ko.

Since she was little, Danita Paner’s mom actress Daisy Romualdez had always wanted her to take on the same path to showbiz, “’Yun talaga ‘yung tinatak ng Nanay ko.”

Childhood is about dreams. What was your biggest career fantasy when you were a kid, Kapamilya?
