In the aftermath of the break-up of her marriage, Maxene Magalona is introspective this Valentine's Day. As she reflects on her journey to love, she brings up memories of #herfirstlove.

Maxene Magalona’s first love – revealed!

Valentine's Day was when Maxene received a marriage proposal six years ago, which led to a wedding in Boracay and a married life in Bali. However, some things are not meant to last. In 2022, Maxene and her husband came to a mutual decision to put an end to their journey to forever. As she contemplates these life events, Maxene writes a poignant digital letter to the first love of her life – her father, the late master rapper Francis Magalona.

For the first time, Maxene shares her first love story in an exclusive Valentine’s Day video with PLDT Home.

In this video, Maxene opens up about her love story – the painful heartbreak and the joyful hope that she chose to embrace. Admitting that she felt overwhelmed in her 20s and pressured to settle down, she thought she was on the right path. She had to learn her lessons the hard way.

When faced with challenges, Maxene is never the one to back down. She believes that her father’s love continues to guide her.

For most women, their father is their first love. It is true for Maxene, after all, she has always been a daddy’s girl. He was her standard, not only when it came to the ideal man, but more so, her benchmark when it came to relationships in general. “In this journey to forever, your love keeps me going and growing. Because you loved me first, I can now share that same authentic love with others.” Maxene writes.

In her letter, Maxene recalls the many lessons from Francis M, whom she fondly calls “Pop,” such as how heartbreak and pain are part of life, getting to know the person first before diving into a commitment, and how love is about acceptance and non-judgment. Through his father’s example, Maxene learns how to love and be loved “authentically and unapologetically.”

These recollections bring her to a hopeful realization to find love again someday, as she writes “I will never give up. I will never lose hope. I know deep in my heart that I will find my true love one day because you showed me what true love is all about.” Maxene closes her letter with deep gratitude and affection for her dad for his undying love. Even though Francis M. has been gone for many years now, Maxene knows and feels that her dad is still with her on her journey to forever. After all, first love never dies, and Francis was #herfirstlove.

You know the whole nation has been fuming at McCoy de Leon’s character, David, in "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo" as the series set a new all-time high record of 818,949 peak concurrent viewers with it's February 18 episode, which finally gave viewers the long-awaited moment of Tanggol (Coco Martin) finding out how David had been audaciously stealing his identity.

The episode picks up from David recklessly squandering money at a casino, which, unbeknownst to him, is run by Tanggol’s group. After losing everything, he desperately pawned a land title registered under Tanggol's real name, Jesus Nazareno Montenegro. That document lands right in Tanggol’s hands, and with extra information from Madonna (Kim Domingo), Tanggol finally connects the dots—David had been posing as him all along.

And when Tanggol gets furious, he doesn’t just let things slide—he drags his enemies straight to the portals of hell. That’s exactly what happened when he nearly smashed David’s face with the punishment he served. Viewers must have found it beyond satisfying, with more than 800, 000 netizens tuning in to witness the intense showdown.

Behind the scenes, the cast and production team went all out for this big moment, as revealed in a video shared by CCM Film Productions.

They meticulously planned every detail, from the cinematography to the all-important acting and fight choreography, making sure that Tanggol’s brutal beating of David would feel as visceral as possible. In the photos, David was literally sprawled across the casino tables after Tanggol sent him flying.

Coco delivered pure, unfiltered rage in every move, like when Tanggol showed no mercy by grabbing David and slamming his face down.

Of course, the entire scene hinged on the actors’ nuances. Coco and McCoy embodied every ounce of wrath, fear, and everything in between, which is a stark contrast to their friendly off-screen dynamic. Check their BTS photo, where they’re all smiles once the cameras stop rolling:

Will David still be able to flash that smug grin of his in the next episodes? Because with both Ramon and Tanggol now out to end his schemes—along with his equally shameless father, Rigor (John Estrada)—things are only about to get wilder.

Don’t miss the intense action and confrontations in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” airing on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z!
