Happy to be making his teleserye comeback this year as part of the action drama series Lavender Fields, actor Jericho Rosales could not hide his excitement with the release of each exciting episode of the show, which first started streaming earlier this month.

“We have a really great show and I’m so kilig. I can’t stop saying it. I’m so sure na pag napanuod niyo ito sa Netflix at sa mga paborito niyong mga istasyon, ma-e-enjoy niyo. This is cinema quality kind of entertainment. We’re bringing it to your homes via Netflix and all these stations.

"I’m very, very proud of the team especially Jodi (Sta. Maria), Janine (Gutierrez), Albert (Martinez), Edu (Manzano), and Maricel (Soriano). Because what we bring out here in this show for every character is truth. If you’re saying, ‘Ay napanuod na namin yung paghigante, napanuod na namin yung ganyan,’ we have been playing characters for a very, very long time. We’ve been playing with these emotions for a very long time and we pruoudly offer the truth in every character here sa show namin. That’s why it’s very refreshing to watch. Yun lang po,” he shared.

Unlike his dual role of Tyrone de Vera  and Arthur Pelaez, Echo said he is nothing like his onscreen characters.

“I’m very far from my character talaga. I don’t like revenge. I don’t take revenge. I guess the best form of revenge is to not give power to this pain or whatever negative was inflicted towards you. Don’t give it life or power and just use it to become a better person.

"If you were to graph the characters, iba iba yung kulay namin di ba? Makikita mo na iba talaga. Iba iba yung pagbato namin sa bawat character namin dito. Enjoy namin talaga lahat. Effective lahat ng actors. Hopefully I was able to contribute also (laughs). Kung ano yung nakikita niyo, ito si Jericho. Walang pagbabago ito. Or minsan, namumulot ng mga nahuhulog na prutas sa puno (laughs),” he admitted.

When asked how he deals with fake or insincere people in the industry, Echo candidly shared some advice.

“If you’re plastic in front of us, you’re not going to get anything. Because what we give you is the truth and we are very sensitive to  people who are not real. That’s our job, to pretend. Okay? So you might as well make friends with us, be friends with us, be real with us. Because that’s what counts. In showbiz, authenticity is what counts. That’s the currency,” he explained.

After going public with his dating status with co-star Janine Gutierrez (who plays his wife Iris in the show), Echo said his heart is in a very good place right now.

“I’m just really very happy on the professional side. I’m just so happy with these guys like right now. My team here and I love them. But on the personal side, all of these people that I work with love her. So it just feels light, you know what I mean? Everything just feels light, if you know what I mean. We’re professionals on set. We can joke about it offscreen. It’s just a really good balance,” he added.

In previous interviews, the actor shared his thoughts on Janine, “Yeah, we’re going out. She’s an amazing person— very sweet, very kind, very funny, and very dedicated. [She’s a] good actress and we just share a lot of things [in common] and we thought. 'hey you’re fun, I’m fun— we’re fun, let’s go to the museum.' There’s no negativity around. You gotta enjoy this fire or flame, whatever this is. Janine has such a loving family— very accepting and cool family... they’re just warm and cool and chill, I love it… They’re a cool family far from being uptight that’s all I can say.”
