James Reid revealed that he is planning to return to acting in early 2025.

"As an actor, yes I do have plans very, very soon. It was always my plan to go back to acting," he said in an interview with Ogie Diaz.

James explained that he opted to do music over acting in recent years for self-discovery.

"I just wanted to make music first kasi at that time I felt like being in a love team, I felt like I was losing my identity. It's just I think it's something that everybody goes through at some point in their lives. You need a drastic change in your life, and I feel like switching from acting into music was that kind of change," he highlighted.

The actor highlighted that what he liked about doing music is how the journey is very personal.

"Through music it's very personal, I write my own songs, I produce my own music, lahat ng kwento galing sa akin. It's very personal. I discovered a lot about myself through music, through doing business, through going through challenges," he stated.

Next year, he is looking forward to doing acting again, saying: "I'm excited to do acting again. Most likely by early next year," he hinted.

When asked if there is a possibility for a JaDine (his love team with Nadine Lustre) comeback, James replied: "I don't think that's happening. There's still that undying support that I'm always grateful for. Even as I transitioned to music, nandun pa rin sila to promote my music and support me. But you know out of respect for my girlfriend Issa (Pressman), I don't think I would do another love team."

The actor further explained: "I think a lot of the audience can't tell reality from showbiz when it comes to love team, so I have respect for her. I don't think I would ever do that again but acting, definitely.

The actor admitted that it had been tough dealing with bashers when it comes to his relationship with Issa.

"It's been a very difficult year for me, also for Issa, and I'm sure for Nadine also, just with all the noise, all of the bashing. Sana people can move on from all of that. I have to say like to be very honest for me witnessing all of the bashing nakaka-depress siya to be honest, and I hope people can move on and just please give us peace of mind," he said.

James pointed out that he is still friends with Nadine. "It's just the fans have a way of creating rumors, all of this stuff saying that like inagaw or whatever which makes no sense because I dated someone after Nadine anyway. Don't ask me who. It just doesn't make any sense, but you know people will always make up their owns stories. I just try my best to live a life that I'm proud of," he remarked.

He went on: "Hopefully people would just move on because they can see na happy naman kami, happy naman sila. Tama na," he remarked.

James and Nadine first appeared as onscreen partners in the 2014 film Diary ng Panget. The movie catapulted their love team to fame.

They last appeared as a love team in the 2018 film Never Not Love You. On television, they last starred together in the series Till I Met You.

From being onscreen partners, they became a real-life couple. In January 2020, they confirmed that they had broken up after almost four years of being together.
