Film director and actor Fifth Solomon recalled his time inside the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) house where he was able to come out as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. The former PBB housemate took to his Instagram account to share how he reclaimed his coming out story after being previously outed in the past.

”10 yrs ago, i was 22yrs old when i entered PBB. Very thankful dahil dito ako nagka chance to own my coming out story, sa aking own time. I had the chance to have a platform and to have a deciding factor when to come out,” he wrote.

The production company owner added how he personally prepared for his coming out story while he was still a housemate. He revealed that the staff of the reality program never forced him to come out and it was all his decision to do so.

“Sa totoo lang, nung araw na naisipan ko mag out sa loob ng bahay ni kuya, sabi ko: sh*t chance ko na to para magkaroon ng bonggang coming out story on a national TV. Hours before ako mag out sa loob ng bahay ni kuya, Nagdamit ako, nagsapatos. Gulat si Kuya, mag out na pala ako. I wanted my coming out story to be memorable, slayable and ICONIC,” he recalled.

He was later given a chance to talk to a psychologist about his coming out to process what just happened as he admitted how afraid he felt even after revealing his true self on national television.

Fifth added that it was because of his coming out inside the PBB house which made him “regain” his power to fight back against people who once outed him when he was younger.

“Before ako mag out sabi ng mga tao 'Umamin ka na lang kasi' pero noong nag out na ako sabi naman nila 'Sayang ka' haha! Diba?! Walang Sayang sa Pagpapakatotoo kahit ayaw naman ng marami ang totoo. Mas sayang ang pagkatao mo kapag nakinig ka sa mga taong wala namang kinalamaan sa pagkatao mo,” he continued.

The former PBB housemate maintained that he has no regrets coming out to the public a decade ago as he was able to be his authentic self on top of having multiple business ventures.
