Radio DJ and podcaster DJ Mo Twister (real name Mohan Gumatay) revealed that he and wife Angelika Schmeig (known on radio as Angelicopter) have officially split up after three years of marriage. Mo talked about the split in episode 56 of "Good Times with Mo: The Podcast Year 13," where he first talked about what would have been their third wedding anniversary celebration in June.  

"I got dumped on our third year wedding anniversary, the day okay. So we're like openly talking about this now... Is that what's happening during this... No, I don't want to openly talk about it extensively just yet. Because obviously you, like this last caller we have, but I don't think she knew that it was our wedding anniversary. I had a sh*tty week. It was our wedding anniversary, then Father's Day, then two days later didn't see my kids, then my son's birthday the next day didn't see him. I mean it's just an avalanche of bullshit,” he shared.

The 46-year-old podcaster admitted he is ready for all the online reaction to the news, given his past experience with a his very public breakup in 2011.

“It’s ugly it's very ugly but i am just not in the mood to talk about not that. i’m not talking about it next week or the week after um it will take a little bit and i will do you guys and explanation and you're going to hear the different versions of different stories that's just how these things work and I know that and I don't really care.

"What I  mean last time with that very, very visible breakup with the last person in my life. I sit there and you just watched the different versions of different stories and I'm okay with that. I get that sh*t, that's part of the gig. But you know everyone is going to have their narrative and whatever," he said.

He added, "You guys will make your decision okay so this is what went wrong and that's wrong but some of the stuff I read and it's it's really off of what I think people think is going on.”

In the 60th episode of his GTWM podcast, Mo shared that he wanted to clarify things his estranged wife had recently shared on social media.

“I wanted to reserve this first part of the podcast to address the elephant in the room, as they say, which is my personal life that has kind of come into the news this week, largely fueled by an Instagram Live that chopper (Angelika) had a couple of days ago. And it was on Monday, I believe it was Sunday, Sunday US Monday morning when she jumped on Instagram Live and, and said a bunch of things.And I would probably just kind of use this as a place to clarify some of the things that she said.

"I am not here to pick fights or get aggressive.And honestly, that's just really kind of not what I do.And I mean, the last time you... I don't want to, I try, I will try my best not to get emotional. And I always have to kind of keep my kids in mind when these things happen because as much as it's ugly to to be in the public about these things. Trust me, I am angry. I would like to say a lot of things that you know is in my head, is in things that I've experienced, my opinion on certain matters.I would love to give you my version of the story, which I won't completely because for the reasons I said earlier,” Mo said.

Although he did not go into specific details on what caused the separation, Mo revealed more insight into his relationship with Angelika.

“That actual conversation happened on our anniversary. I know she said otherwise, but that's absolutely the date it happened. She said no chance for reconciliation on her side. Absolutely. But just to kind of sometimes I always feel it's a little self-centered to say there's no chance we're getting back together. Well, both of us have to agree to that. You know what, when you say a blanket statement like that, it feels like, you know, I make the decision, not me. I mean the person who says that I make the decision, which is very similar to many decisions that are made at home.

"There's a strong personality and there's a non strong personality and a strong personality tends to win and I'm OK with that. I don't make a lot of decisions around here now. When she said we've had, we were having a hard time since January. I don't know if it goes back as far as January, but it's been a couple of months and there have been moments where I've said, man, I'm out,” he explained.

During the podcast, Mo also addressed possible third party speculations about the breakup.

“Some people are asking if there's a third party. I don't want to talk about that either. I do know that the narrative will be that I am jealous, that I am jealous of everybody and all of that. And come on, I've had a lot of girlfriends and many of you guys know who they are and I had to see these people kiss other guys for a job and, I'd have had to see them interact with a bunch of [guys]. Jealousy comes with purpose. Jealousy comes with history. Jealousy comes usually with a track record. For me, there has to be a reason to then I think it's normal to be jealous. On the other side, if I am jealous, if I am overly jealous, there is a reason for that, a very tangible reason for it,” he admitted.

Mo and Angelika tied the knot during a trip to Iceland in 2021. The couple have been based in Las Vegas, Nevada along with their 10-year-old daughter named Amsterdam. Angelika also has a 15-year old son named Lucas from a previous relationship and Mo has a 25-year-old daughter named Moira (with former actress Bunny Paras) who just got married in May in the US.
