Kapamilya actress Alexa Ilacad didn’t mince her words as she shut down a netizen with a rude remark about her body. The upcoming Pinoy Big Brother host made sure to point out to everyone how celebrities have emotions as well and have boundaries to be respected. 

A netizen previously commented in one of Alexa’s posts about finding something “off” about her body.

“Ang ganda mo pero may something talaga sa katawan mo na mejo off,” the netizen remarked. 

Alexa didn’t hesitate to reply to the netizen’s negative comment about her body and reminded them about people with different body types.

“2024 na pero hindi ka pa rin aware na our bodies come in different shapes, sizes, and proportions? I’d suggest you to hit the books before making comments that are very… off,” Alexa replied.

The netizen, who didn’t want to back down, replied once more and added that Alexa shouldn’t be bothered with negative comments as she is a public personality who should be used to this already.

“2024 na pero mukhang ang gusto mo lang na comment ay yung hindi “off” para sayo? Dapat hindi ka nag artista if you can’t stomach the truth,” the netizen responded.

Capping off the heated argument, the Kapamilya star pointed out that celebrities, just like any other person, deserve to be treated with respect.

“What a dumb argument. Me being a celebrity doesn’t give you a free pass to be rude,” she ended.

Alexa then took to her Instagram Stories to make a statement to her millions of followers. She used the incident as a teachable moment and a firm reminder about how it’s not okay for netizens to give rude comments towards celebrities.

“Last time I checked, ang trabaho ko po bilang artista ay umarte, kumanta, sumayaw minsan, at magpasaya ng tao. (Which I love doing) Buuut it isn’t part of my job description to tolerate rude comments like this. Constructive criticism–– I accept with an open heart, but this? Nah. Such a toxic mindset,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, fans of the actress showed their support in the comment section of her posts. Other netizens expressed how they agreed with the sentiments of the actress as other fans have been crossing the line with their rude comments.
