Former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson shared that an episode of the next season of he hit K-Drama Vagabond will be filmed in the Philippines.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Chavit relayed that he will be one of the producers of the series. He has partnered with the Korean producers of the said drama.

"Baka itong May. Tinatapos lang ‘yung whole story. Kasi ayaw nilang gumawa ng hindi tapos ‘yung story. Kailangan tapos ‘yung istorya para tuluy-tuloy na ang shoot,” he said.

He said that he aims for the second episode of the series to be shot in the scenic spots in the country.

"Siguro, isang buwan na ginagawa [‘yung story]. ‘Yung second episode ay sa Philippines para makasama ‘yung local stars. Magkakaroon tayo ng actors and actresses from the Philippines,” he shared.

He went on: "Sa Ilocos muna. Ang balak ko sa lahat ng magagandang lugar sa Pilipinas katulad nung ginawa ko sa Miss Universe. Para makilala ang bansa natin."

On how his partnership for the series started, he said:  "Marami tayong companies sa Korea at mga kaibigan. Si Lee Seung-gi malaking part din kaya natuloy ito. Kaibigan natin sila. Masaya siya. Matagal na natin silang kilala. Dun ko rin sa Korea gagawin ‘yung modernization program ng ating jeepneys."

Vagabond is a television series in Korea which aired in 2019. It starred Lee Seung-gi, Bae Suzy, and Shin Sung-rok.

In September 2023, Seung-gi visited the Philippines for an event.

"It’s good to see the Philippines and their smiles. I keep on coming back because of the love they give me every time I come here," the Korean actor said during his past visit to the country.

In the same interview, Seung-gi also hinted about his upcoming projects.

“As of now, there’s no new series, but there’s a lot of offers. I hope in the future there’s one Korean drama that I can show to the Filipino fans," he stated.
