South Korean singer and songwriter 10cm, also known as Kwon Jung-Yeol expressed his desire to collaborate with Filipino singer and songwriter TJ Monterde.

In a vlog uploaded by Korean YouTuber Jessica Lee titled, Introducing Filipino Boodle Fight to Korean Artist 10CM!, the South Korean singer expressed that he wants to collaborate with Filipino artists, especially with TJ.

“Among the well-known ones, there are artists like Zack Tabudlo and TJ Monterde. It seems like there are many aspects that resonate with me, and I feel the desire to try something together,” the South Korean singer said.

He also explained how TJ resonated with the kind of music he has.

“I’d like to collaborate as soon as possible because he has a very professional and acoustic feel, and it seems like there are many aspects that resonate with me,” he expressed.

10cm also praised how Filipino singers have powerful and refreshing voices.

“They have the sweet voices that Korean vocalists can’t imitate,” 10cm also noted.

He added: “It’s powerful and husky, but even with huskiness, it doesn't feel stifling. It's not an exaggeration. When I hear a voice that's husky yet refreshing, it's normally associated with the Philippines.”

In the latter part of the vlog, 10cm gave a special treat as he performed TJ’s most recent hit “Palagi”, which recently won the Wish Pop Song of the Year award at the 9th Wish Music Awards last January.

Fans couldn't help but express excitement over the idea of a 10cm and TJ collaboration.

“omg kayoooo huhu yung singer ng 10cm gusto raw niya maka-collab si tj monterde !!!!!! AAAAAA,” a fan wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

“10cm Jeongyeol want to collab with TJ Monterde & Zack, please make it happen!!” another netizen posted.

TJ also expressed his excitement after hearing the South Korean singer’s cover of his hit song.

“I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! (I have) been listening to 10cm since 2017. Now he’s singing my song. WHATTTTTTTTTTTT 😭,” the singer wrote.

Last January 27, the "Dating Tayo" hitmaker then flew to South Korea to watch and finally meet the South Korean singer during his 2024 Winter Concert at the KSPO Dome (a.k.a. the Olympic Gymnastics Arena) in Seoul, South Korea.

The singer-songwriters got to interact for the first time after the concert, where TJ complimented the singer as well as brought a gift for him.

“Congratulations! You are so amazing. Your voice is so good from beginning to end,” TJ and his team said to 10cm.

As per Cornerstone Entertainment: "Fans of both artists can only hope and speculate that their private backstage interaction will just be the first and that it will lead to an official collaboration between the two soon.“

TJ Monterde is one of the most streamed male OPM artists on music streaming platform Spotify and is known for his hits “Dating Tayo,” “Mahika,” “Tulad Mo,” and “Ikaw At Ako”. He has garnered accolades from prestigious award-giving bodies such as the Awit Awards and Wish Music Awards.

The 34-year-old artist is married to singer KZ Tandingan and they had a 2020 single entitled "Can’t Wait To Say I Do."

On the other hand, 10cm is a popular and award-winning South Korean indie folk-pop act that originally debuted in 2010 as a duo composed of Kwon Jung-Yeol and Yoon Cheol-Jong. Yoon left the duo in 2017, leaving Jung-Yeol to carry on and continue using the name as a solo artist.

10cm is particularly known for his songs like "Mattress," "However," "Borrow Your Night," as well as original soundtracks of hit Korean dramas such as Crash Landing On You and Goblin. He also collaborated with K-pop idols such as Chen from EXO and their group's subunit EXO SC, Yoona of SNSD, Heize and Lee Su-hyun from AKMU.
