Angelica Panganiban shared her journey to recovery following her hip replacement surgery on her left hip.

In her recent vlog, Angelica relayed that she has been recovering quickly following her operation.  

"Swiftly naman akong nakaka-recover. Fourth day after the surgery nakalakad na ako without the walker," she said. "Medyo mayabang 'yun kasi hindi lahat nagagawa 'yun and siyempre iba-iba naman tayo ng pag-recover, kanya-kanyang katawan 'yan, kanya-kanyang midset 'yan."

The actress remarked that her eagerness to start walking normally again might had aid her in her fast recovery.

"Siguro talagang ako ay palaban and kating-kati na talaga akong makalakad ng normal. Yes, nakakapag-mall na kaming pamilya, nakakapasyal na," she shared.

Angelica shared that she's still feeling pain in her right hip which was not operated on.

"Although still, talagang iniinda ko pa rin 'yung right side ng hips ko. At least hindi na parehas, hindi na parang bibigay 'yung buong lower body ko dahil sa sakit na nararamdaman ko," she said.

She continued: "Manageable 'yung pain, pero siyempre hindi pa rin isang daang porsyento 'yung naramdaman kong ginhawa so I am hoping na sa therapy na ginagawa ko ay makatulong 'yun sa aking naiwang right hip."

Angelica was also looking forward to doing low impact workouts as soon as she got clearance from her doctor.

"Medyo excited ako dun kasi mastre-strengthen talaga 'yung katawan ko and nung ginagawa ko siya noon, nakakatulong siya na mabawasan 'yung pain kasi nalilipat talaga niya 'yung strength ng lower body ko sa mga muscles. Lumalakas kahit papano 'yung muscles ko sa legs," she said.

Angelica recently underwent a hip replacement surgery on her left leg to address her avascular necrosis.

As per Mayo Clinic, avascular necrosis is "the death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply. Also called osteonecrosis, it can lead to tiny breaks in the bone and cause the bone to collapse."

It can be recalled that before the hip replacement operation, Angelica had a hip cord decompression surgery for her bone disease. But the actress shared that it did not address her condition.
