“Thank you very much to my real-life fairies… for giving me opportunities that allowed me to save up and provide for my family in Cebu,” she said.

Beatrice first rose to fame when she represented the Philippines in the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Israel in 2021, where she finished in the Top 5. During her Miss Universe journey, the Cebuana beauty queen has been open about being raised by a single mother and going to college  through to an athletic scholarship.

“I was raised by a single mom and she had quite a hard time managing our household," she said. "My sister and I tried out for the volleyball varsity team and we were able to get an athletic scholarship, and that's how we were able to go to a good school from high school to college."

“I was able to help my mom in some way and I was able to make her proud,” she added.

She also talked about being raised by a single parent in a 2021 interview with MEGA.

“I was lucky enough that my mom guided me properly and provided me with everything that I needed to become the person that I am now. But these children, they weren’t able to have this,” she said.

“These children, they’re considered a nuisance to the community because they’re juvenile delinquents. And some people don’t understand that these children are also just victims. That they also need to be guided.”

In addition to being a beauty queen, Beatrice is also a model and a reservist for the Philippine Navy.
