Sylvia Sanchez penned a heartwarming message for Maine Mendoza ahead of the latter’s wedding to her son Arjo Atayde.

In an Instagram post, Sylvia wrote: "Ito ang isa sa mga dasal ko bilang INA na makasundo ng pamilya ang mapapangasawa ng mga anak ko. Masaya ako at nagpapasalamat dahil ibinigay ng DIYOS ang panalangin kong ito 🙏🙏🙏."

The actress added that she has long considered Maine as part of the family.

"Matagal na kitang minahal at itinuring na isang tunay na anak mula ng minahal mo ang anak kong si Arjo @mainedcm ❤️ Ngayon, hayaan mo naman akong iparamdam sa’yo ng buong buo ang pagmamahal at pagtanggap sayo bilang isang tunay na anak, gaya ng ipinaramdam sa akin ng mga biyenan ko," she stated.

Sylvia organized a bridal shower for Maine ahead of her union to Arjo.

"Happy to welcome you to our big happy and crazy family. Soon!!! Mrs Maine Mendoza Atayde ka na. Can’t wait for the Big Day. Love you, my soon to be daughter in law," Sylvia posted on her Instagram page following the bridal shower.

It was on July 28, 2022 when Maine and Arjo got engaged.

In the engagement video they posted last year, Arjo shared that he had been planning for the proposal for about one year.

"It’s a long time in the making," Arjo relayed.

The actor proposed on the same day that he first met Maine which was July 28.

"This is the day I met her also, July 28, 2018. And now I proposed, July 28, 2022... I’ve always been sure of you. Always, everyday," he said.

In the proposal video, Maine remarked: "To be honest, it hasn’t really sunk in yet. Parang (It’s like) I’m still on cloud nine. Sobrang bilis ng pangyayari. It all happened so fast but we’re here now."

She told Arjo: "I’ve always prayed to find a man who’s gonna love me for who I am and then you came. I just want to thank you for loving me the way you do. I want to thank you for being you, for loving my family, for loving my friends, and for loving me."
