ABS-CBN has achieved a new feat with Mars Ravelo's Darna as the Kapamilya fantasy series has started broadcasting in Indonesia.

Dubbed in Bahasa, the pilot week recently aired in Indonesia through the free-to-air TV network ANTV in the country.

The pilot week, which showed Narda transforming into Darna, has thrilled Indonesian television viewers.

"We have always presented programs with a narrative closely associated with the daily lives of Indonesian people. As we begin the year, we present a new genre to our viewers that tell the story of the iconic Filipino heroine Darna, which also appeals to our younger audiences as she serves as a perfect role model for them," ANTV's Chief Program and Communications Officer Kiki Zulkarnain said as reported by ABS-CBN News.

Zulkarnain added that Darna has certainly made the programming on their network more diverse.

"We hope it will not only entertain but instill values in the youth through her acts of kindness and bravery," he said.

Mars Ravelo's Darna stars Jane de Leon as the superheroine and as Narda Custodio, a young emergency medical technician and the successor to be the protector of the mythical stone.

Other stars in the series include Joshua Garcia, Janella Salvador, Zaijian Jaranilla, and Paolo Gumabao, among others.

Back in August last year, Mars Ravelo's son Rex Ravelo remarked that ABS-CBN is the best option to breathe life into the new live-action adaptation of Darna.

"We signed up with ABS-CBN because we feel that it’s the best platform that we can have. Mataas ang expectations namin talaga. Having Mr. (Chito) Roño as the director, iyon na ‘yun, e. It’s a dream come true. Hindi pa tumitigil ang goosebumps ko. This is like a dream," Rex remarked at the show's press conference last year.

Aside from Darna, another Kapamilya series had made its way abroad as Viral Scandal has begun airing in Africa. The series, which has been dubbed in English, is presently being broadcasted in 41 Sub-Saharan countries like Nigeria and the Ivory Coast.

The series tells the story of a simple family whose life is disrupted when a scandalous video of their eldest daughter goes viral.

It stars Charlie Dizon, Jake Cuenca, Joshua Garcia, and Dimples Romana, among others.
