Actor and congressman Richard Gomez shared that saving money and investing in real estate are some of the best advice that he can give to young stars today.

'Yung bahay kapag nabili mo na 'yan gamitin mo na hanggang sa tumanda ka, hanggang sa magka-anak ka," he said in an interview with Ogie Diaz in the latter's YouTube vlog.

He stressed that celebrities need to learn how to save money, especially at the peak of one's career.

Biglang dadami ang barkada mo,” he stated.

In the same interview, Richard also talked about his own journey in investment. The actor-congressman revealed that the first thing he bought from his income as an actor was a house.

"Ang una kong naipundar na malaki was really a house," he shared.

Richard revealed that he first bought a house in Mariposa before building another house in Greenhills in 1996.

Tapos we stayed in Greenhills,” he said.

He went on: “And nakapag-ipon pa rin, ipon nang ipon hanggang sa year 2000, nakabili ako ng bahay sa Forbes Park. Eh medyo mahal. Sabi ko parang kinabahan ako, 'Kaya ko ba to?' Sabi ko if we don't buy it now, we'll not be able to buy it anymore. So 'yun. Pikit-mata, kaya natin 'to basta ang monthly natin may mortgage, kinompute namin kaya natin. So, nung 2001, we bought that," he shared.

The actor shared that they rented out their house at Forbes Park for ten years which paid the mortgage of the house.

So 'yun ang nangyari. Ten years may umuupa ng bahay na 'yun. So 10 years nabayaran 'yung bahay so dun pa rin kami sa Greenhills nakatira," he said.

Richard and Lucy eventually occupied their house at Forbes Park when Lucy became a congresswoman since it was near the airport.

Every week umuwi siya," he said.

He continued” "So ganun ang ginagawa ko pag maka-ipon ako, ano bang maganda diyan? Bili tayo nito, bilhin natin. One of the best investments talaga is real estate especially in Manila."
