Just in time for this year’s Pride Month celebration, ABS-CBN announced their latest series which is also be the country’s first ever BL (Boys’ Love) dating show called Hello Searcher. In the teaser video, 2020 Miss Trans Global title holder and the show’s host Mela Habijan shared more details about the exciting new digital series which is the brainchild of Black Sheep productions who is also behind the 2020 hit BL web series Hello Stranger.

Come join the fun as I help our searcher get to know six searchees as they go through exciting games and challenges until only one spark remains,” Mela said in the video.

After the initial teaser, it was then announced that Star Magic Circle Batch 13 actor Alex Diaz is going to be The Searcher for the dating game show’s initial season. Alex last starred in Dreamscape’s iWantTFC series Oh, Mando! in 2020. He also shot the international film Glitter and Doom last year in Mexico City. Alex also came out as a bisexual in 2019.

Aside from Hello Searcher, ABS-CBN’s previous BL projects include Hello Stranger: The Movie which was the first BL movie Valentine offering of ABS-CBN Films and Black Sheep last year starring Tony Labrusca and JC Alcantara. ABS-CBN also acquired the rights to air the popular Thai BL series 2gether in 2020 which starred Vachirawit “Bright” Chivaaree and Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn.
