Last September 22, actor Javi Benitez formally announced his plans to run for public office next year in the mayoral elections in Victorias City in the province of Negros Occidental. The 26-year-old actor, who is the son of former Negros Occidental congressman and businessman Albee Benitez, posted a clip of his speech on his Instagram account which shows him explaining in his native dialect what makes him competent and confident to run for mayor.

He was first seen in the primetime series The General’s Daughter where he played the role of businessman Vladimir Lejano. His most recent project was his launching movie Kid Alpha One with Sue Ramirez which was directed by Richard Somes.
