When showbiz newcomer Angeli Khang first told her father, a Korean general, about her plans to get into modeling in 2017, the Fil-Korean actress said he had other dreams in store for her.

“When he knew about my modeling he wasn’t supportive kasi ang gusto niyang mangyari sa akin ay sundan yung landas niya sa army and he said that it has a lot of better opportunities din. But my heart and mind tell me na gustong gusto ko talaga ‘to kaya I got consent from my mom and she told me to just do whatever makes me happy and I’m thankful that my mom is supportive. And I think I’ll have a lot of explaining to do to my dad (laughs),” she said during the virtual press conference for the latest Vivamax film Mahjong Nights.

“Nag-start ako 2017 as a cosplayer and from there on yung mga tao nagpapa-picture sa akin, dun ko na-realize that I enjoy being in front of the cameras and nung may nag-invite sa akin maging model, grinab ko na talaga yung opportunity na yun kasi alam ko na hindi ako magiging mahiyain sa harap ng camera. Ung nakita ng manager ko na si Jojo Veloso na may potential ako, thankful ako na inaya niya ako na magkaroon ng agency sa Viva Artists. Nagawa ko ito dahil dream ko maging artista. So seeing the comments of some people who judged kagad yungcpagka erotic in a bad way, inaanyayahan ko kayong panuorin itong Mahjong Nights at talagang it’s an eye-opener to all. I hope na magustuhan niyo dahil marami kaming mga pasabog dun. After watching the movie I’m sure madaming maiiwan na feelings sa inyo kaya panuorin niyo ‘to,” she added.
