Last January 29, news spread online that Kathryn Bernardo’s hairstylist Chris Rodil had unexpectedly passed away in his sleep.

The young hairstylist was known to accompany The House Arrest of Us star to her showbiz commitments here and abroad and was also hairstylist to other celebrities like Regine Velasquez, Karla Estrada, and Jane de Leon and was well-loved by his clients and friends in the industry. Kathryn also shared her favorite travel and pictorial photos with Chris on her Instagram Stories.

On her Instagram account, Kath wrote a bittersweet message for her late friend and glam team mamber. “I love you so much, missy. 💔 dami pa natin pupuntahan and gagawin na hairstyles di ba? Sino na maghhair and magpapatawa sakin? 🥺 kulang team kung wala ka.. i will miss you, our rodil. 💔”

Darna actress Jane de Leon mourned the loss of a good friend in her tribute post for him. She wrote,”I was so surprised and saddened of your sudden passing. You have been a real good friend. Unang kita pa lang natin, nagkasundo na agad tayo at isa ka sa mga taong komportable kong kausap. Mamimiss kita @chrisrodil , our tawanan and kulitan while at work. The beautiful moments you shared with us will always speak of a great person that you were. Thank you so much for the good times. You will be missed forever and always. Rest in peace up in heaven my friend! 🕊”

Barbie Imperial, another one of Chris’s regular clients, also shared sadness over his death. “Grabe missy.. Magandang Buhay host Karla Estrada, who also shared the same birthday as Chris, also shared a sweet testimonial for the hairstylist on her feed. She wrote, “💔💔💔 11-21 pareho nating kaarawan kaya hinding hindi kita malilimutan. Paalam kaibigan.. maraming salamat sa masasayang alaala sa loob ng 5 taon. Iza Calzado was also one of the celebrities still in disbelief over Chris’s unexpected passing and shared one of her first memories working with him. “Rodil. Hindi ako makapaniwala. Hindi ko alam anong sasabihin ko. Hindi na kita maasar na wala ka nang time para sa akin. Hindi ka na maiinis na paulit ulit lang yung hair. Gusto mo kasi laging may challenge, laging maganda ang buhok ng alaga mo. I still remember the first time I worked with you for a Metro cover and I immediately asked for your number. Naaalala mo pa ba yun? You were so talented and such a good person. We worked on a lot of things together and I am so happy you were given amazing opportunities to work with the brightest of stars especially nung ginawa mo na si Ate @reginevalcasid na super fan ka talaga.
