We first knew her as the “Cosplay Cutie ng Iloilo”, when she joined Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4 as a teen housemate eight years ago and ended up winning by a landslide and being named Big Winner that season. Now, the cosplayer-turned-singer/songwriter reflects on the past year after turning 26 years old last December 7.

On her Instagram account, she wrote, “I just wanna say thank you if you're reading this. This year taught me the value of what we have now. To stop wasting time wondering what might have been and focus on what might still be and could be. I've been taught to see each day as a blessing (no matter how hard it is sometimes) and appreciate the people around me and the life that continues to unfold.”

The Kapuso actress, who transferred networks earlier this year, also admitted in her post that she is not the type to have big birthday celebrations. “If you personally knew me, I never really liked celebrating my birthday. I would always opt to donate rather than celebrate but regardless... I never expected so many people to still remember me in advance. Friends that would message me, to check up on me, to force me to celebrate and to ask how I have been and I've never been more grateful. That is the best gift guys,” she said.

Myrtle is a Cum Laude graduate of Broadcast Communications from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She was a member of the Star Magic roster of talents since coming out of the PBB house in 2012. She officially switched home networks last February 22.
