When photos of his mom actress Teresa Loyzaga in a bikini first came out on her social media account, Diego Loyzaga admitted he is proud of his mom’s healthy and sexy physique. “I’m not going to say exactly her age but she’s 50-plus and she is fitter than a lot of people who are even younger than her. So there’s nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong if she’s posing like that. She should be proud if anything na she’s that fit and healthy. And we’re all about fitness so it’s all good,” he shared during a Celebrity Car Wars event.

The Kapamilya actor said he does not want to an overprotective son who meddles in his parent’s decisions. “Look, it makes her happy. I am not the perfect son. Malayo. I’m not even a good role model to a lot of people. But she supports me in what I do. So who am I to say to my mom, ‘Mom, bakit ka nag-po-pose ng ganyan?’ Alright. So she can say the exact same thing to me,” he remarked.

As one of the contestants in this season’s Celebrity Car Wars on the History Channel, Diego revealed it took his mom some convincing to be okay about it. “At first she was definitely iffy about it, being a mom. Hanggang ngayon pinaglalaban ko na bibili ako ng motor and up to this day, she says, ‘The second you buy a motorbike I’m back to Australia!’ Yan ang laging banat niya. Of course bilang ina, who wants to see their child put in danger? Or be in a situation where their lives could be in danger? Nung una natakot siya. But when she saw the contract we had to sign saying how safe we’d be sa Vios Cup medyo gumaan yung loob niya. Sobrang supportive niya. She was there. So ilang beses ka iikot dun sa track. Kada daan ko dun sa pits, dinig ko mama ko, ‘Go baby! You can do it!’ Sobrang supportive si mama,” he said.
