She is best remembered today as the former teen star who happens to be Bea Alonzo and Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach’s batchmate in youth-oriented show K2BU. However, Angelene Aguilar is now pursuing her craft in anther country.

Angelene, who is last seen in the Halina Perez Story of Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2004, shared in an exclusive interview with PUSH that she decided to leave the industry in order to prioritize obtaining her Fine Arts degree at the University of Santo Tomas.

“I was studying while working, it was hard but I’m glad my parents instilled that mentality in me. I value education so much; it’s something that nobody can take away from you,” she said.

These days, Angelene is now based in the US and is working as a jewelry designer for a company in New York. However, this did not stop Angelene from continuing her passion for singing and performing.

“I have a band called Run of Luck, we perform around different venues in New Jersey and New York. We’re also in the middle of putting together an album but I wish I can share it with everyone back home, in the future,” she shared.

She added, “Malay mo isa sa mga kanta dun maging theme song ng movie or teleserye. Dream ko yan!”

Apart from her career, passion and family, Angelene was also able to find love in the Big Apple. She described her boyfriend and band mate Erwin as “wonderful, kind, fun and passionate soul.”

“I guess it helped that we’re both into music. But it’s crazy and I still can’t believe that I met someone who truly accepts and gets me. We’re so much alike and different at the same time,” she added that he too loves her family so much.

However, despite appearing to be settled in the US, Angelene admitted that she still misses the country, as well as show business.

Does she have plans of going back in the country and in showbiz?

“If given the chance, Why not? Yes, I would like to do it again and I will lie if I say that I don’t miss it. I will never close my door in any kind of opportunity and blessings. So kung may opportunity man or offer, I will,” she ended.
