Samantha Bernardo opened up about her love story with husband Scott Moore.

In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez in the TFC show BRGY, Samatha shared that they first met in Palawan through friends.

"After Binibining Pilipinas ko in 2018, I went to Palawan. Dapat kikitain ko 'yung ex, [then partner] ko that time. Kami pa nun [ng ex ko] so it's his birthday week so dapat magtat-ravel kami," she recounted.

She went on: "Ang mali ko sinama ko 'yung mom ko para bakasyon kami. So nakita ng mom ko mga three days [sabi niya], 'Bakit hindi ito umaalis ng bahay?' Umiiyak-iyak na pala ako dun because my ex cheated on me, and then dumped me tapos blocked me. But after that na-realize ko you will never be enough with the wrong person."

While in Palawan, Samantha was then invited by a friend to join them in a festival. "May nakita akong friend [sabi niya], 'Uy nandito ka pala sa Palawan, come hang out with us.' Parang may festival sa may bay walk. Sabi niya, 'Were one of the sponsors.' Then my mom said go na."

She met Scott for the first time in the said festival. "So this was April 2018, so friends of friends of friends."

It took six months before she went on a date with Scott. "Kasi ayaw ko muna siya kitain in the next six months [that time] kasi moving on pa ako, healing," she recalled.

They started dating in Manila six months after the first time they met. "Because he's here every month and most of his clients are Filipinos," she shared.

Samantha admitted that initially, she no longer wanted to be in a long-distance relationship just like in her past relationships. "But I gave a chance [kasi] alam mo 'yung personality namin, 'yung pagkakalog namin swak talaga and then 'yung conversations are really mindblowing and heart pumping."

The Miss Grand International 2020 1st runner-up added:"'Yung pagiging authentic naming dalawa, ‘yun ang nag-bond sa amin."

Scott is working as a Managing Director for a residence and citizenship by investment company in Singapore.

In April this year, Sam and Scott got married.

On their plans for the future, Samantha relayed: "Six years na kami ngayon and I feel like ang dami na naming pinagdaanan, so for this year we really want to travel. Four days lang kami dito sa Philippines and we keep on traveling for the last four months and we're gonna  travel more this year."

They also plan to start a family in 2025. "Next year if we will be blessed, we will have to start a baby but before that we will have a dog first para mag-practice," she said.

On her advice for those who are in a long-distance relationship, Samantha remarked: "I know it's not for all and naniniwala talaga ako we should love our partner the way they wanted to be loved. Naniniwala ako sa love language so huwag na natin ipilit kung hindi kaya."

She went on: "Kasi may mga relationships na unrequited love na feeling nila kung ano 'yung mahirap iyon 'yung kailangan na love, hindi eh. Love should feel free, love should be joyful. Love is parang kung ano 'yung magco-complete sa'yo. For me 'yun ang naramdaman ko kay Scott and even though we are in a long-distance relationship we really trust each other and at the same time we look forward to the same things in life."
