The famous Christ the Redeemer statue, in Rio de Janeiro, was used as a canvas to raise environmental awareness during World Environment Week on Thursday night.
Taken from Pope Francis‘ Encyclical “Laudato Si” in 2015, a letter addressed to every person on this planet asking all to protect the earth, a Portuguese phrase was projected on the statue to call for "a new and universal solidarity" in taking care of the environment.
