Japanese Consul General Ambassador Mikio Mori said this year’s parade is especially meaningful after US President Joe Biden’s bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the White House.

Mori said the Japan parade is also the Japanese-American community’s way of showing their appreciation to their adopted home New York City.

The organizers are hoping this would also strengthen the ties between the Japanese-Americans and other community members in the Big Apple.

In celebration of the AAPI heritage month and in light of the recent US-Japan-Philippines trilateral summit at the White House, Mori is inviting Filipino-Americans to join the parade to foster and promote a stronger Philippines-Japan ties, especially in New York City.

The Japan parade starts at 1 p.m., while the Japan Street Fair Starts at 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on 72nd Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue in New York City.
