Mexico's disaster prevention center Cenapred reported that over the past 24 hours, the volcano has registered 22 exhalations. Cenapred also recommended not to approach the volcano and especially the crater due to the risk of falling incandescent fragments.

The volcanic alert status remains unchanged on yellow phase 2, it added. That means increased activity with sporadic explosions, continuous plumes of steam and water, light to moderate ashfall in nearby populations, release of incandescent fragments and the possibility of short-range pyroclastic flows associated with the explosions.
